- This assay detects nucleic acid sequences from Coronavirus subtypes 229E, HKU1, OC43, and NL63 RNA in nasopharyngeal swabs using PCR and non-probe detection methods, such as melt curve analysis. A single Coronavirus result is reported when any of the four Coronavirus subtypes are detected. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, BioFire Diagnostic FilmArray Respiratory Panel EZ assay.
