Rheumatoid arthritis disease activity level [CDAI]

Definition

  • The Clinical Disease Activity Index is a measure of a patient's Rheumatoid Arthritis activity. Upper extremity joints are assessed for swelling and tenderness, and a separate score is assigned for overall number of tender joints and overall swollen joints. The final score is the sum of the tender and swollen joint scores ([LOINC:88981-6] and [LOINC:88980-8]) along with the scores of the Patient Global Assessment of Disease Activity [LOINC:75894-6] and the Provider Global Assessment of Disease Activity [LOINC:75846-6]. The total score is interpreted as follows: 0.0-2.8: Remission; 2.9-10.0: Low Activity; 10.1-22.0: Moderate Activity; 22.1-76.0: High Activity.
