Definition
- The total concentration of CD3+ CD45+ cells. Natural killer T (NKT) cells are gated on CD45+ CD3+ cells, whereas natural killer (NK) CD16+ and CD56+ cell subsets are derived from CD45+ CD3- cell gate. NKT cells are a unique subset of T cells that also express NK receptors. Unlike NK cells, they develop in the thymus and express a T cell receptor.
