Insulin intact [Units/volume] in Serum by LC/MS/MS

Insulin intact Ser LC/MS/MS-aCnc

Definition

  • Intact insulin in serum is primarily measured for the assessment of insulin resistant syndromes and diagnosis of glycemic disorders in patients with diabetes and pre-diabetes. This assay detects only intact insulin (not fragments of insulin). For the measure of total insulin (assays that may detect intact insulin as well as fragments of insulin and proinsulin), LOINC uses "Insulin" in the Component name.
