Definition

The "high sensitivity" troponin assays manufactured by different vendors have different analytical characteristics, including the limit of detection and 99% upper reference limit (URL). The quantitative results from different assays should not be compared to make clinical decisions, and reporting the quantitative result in isolation is not recommended.
