Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire Self-Administered Standardized Format [CRQ-SAS]

Definition

  • The Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire Self-Administered, Individualized Format (CRQ-SAS) is derived from the original CRQ tool and used to measure health-related quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic airflow limitation, or various lung disease. The CRQ-SAS contains five standardized dyspnea questions about shortness of breath that the respondents have experienced when they completed certain activities in the past two weeks. Answers are scored on a 7-point Likert-type scale. Patients with higher scores indicate better health-related quality of life.[PMID: 14555575]
