USE Lung

Definition

  • Ultrasound elastography of the lung is performed to measure the elastic properties of the parenchyma. This imaging technique is used to obtain diagnostic information for lung diseases. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, CPT 76981 (Ultrasound, elastography; parenchyma (eg, organ)), which is one of three codes that replaced a more generic Category III code 0346T (ultrasound elastography).
