Soluble CD14 subtype [Mass/volume] in Serum, Plasma or Blood by Immunoassay

sCD14-ST SerPlBld IA-mCnc

Definition

  • Quantitative mass concentration of soluble CD14-subtype (sCD14-ST, also known as Presepsin) in whole blood, serum or plasma for the diagnosis and prognosis of sepsis and to monitor the course of the disease. This test may be performed on neonates or immunosupressed patients (e.g. post-transplantation) in which other inflammation markers (e.g. IL-6, CRP, procalcitonin) are elevated due to other factors, including post-surgery systemic inflammatory response or administration of anti-thymocyte globulin.
