Hepatotocellular carcinoma risk [Score] GALAD

GALAD Score

Definition

  • The GALAD score provides the probability of a patient having hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is calculated based on gender, age, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)-L3, AFP, and des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin [DCP], and higher GALAD model scores correlate with increased risk of HCC. The GALAD model is reported to be more accurate in diagnosing HCC compared to the use of the individual markers.
