Definition
- This panel assesses pituitary production of growth hormone in response to an arginine stimulus. Baseline growth hormone, glucose, and cortisol are measured, and then remeasured at 30-minute intervals after receiving arginine. Results are used to diagnose growth hormone deficiency and excess. This test may be performed with a clonidine stimulation panel [LOINC: 92666-7].
