Health confidence panel [R-Outcomes]

Definition

  • The health confidence panel captures patients' perceptions about their health literacy, self-efficacy, access to care, and shared decision-making. Each level is indicated using a traffic-light metaphor with written labels, color, position, and images. Each response level is recorded on a 0-3 ordinal scale, with strongly agree = 3, agree = 2, neutral = 1, and disagree = 0. The total score is on a scale of 0 to 12 and is calculated by adding together the individual scores for all health confidence panel items. [PMID: 31259277]
