Sequencing study ID
Definition
- A unique identifier assigned by a lab for a sequencing study performed on a patient specimen. This identifier may be different from the unique identifier assigned to the original sample from the patient. The ID may also be provided to GISAID and reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) when submitting sequencing results for infectious pathogens, such as SARS coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
