Urothelial carcinoma gene expression score in Urine by Molecular genetics method

UC gene expression score Ur

Definition

  • An overall gene expression score that indicates the probability of urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) based on the presence of urine-based tumor markers in urine specimens by molecular genetic methods. Testing is performed for the diagnosis and surveillance of bladder cancer patients. Various non-invasive molecular assays exist for the detection of urothelial carcinoma (UC). Results may include an overall genetic expression score (this term), the probability of UC based on lab and clinical data [LOINC: 98854-3], and a risk score for the recurrence of UC [LOINC: 98040-9]. The submitter's gene expression score ranges from 0-1 where a score of <0.12 is a high probability of no UC, scores between 0.12 ≤ and< 0.23 indicate low probability of UC, and ≥ 0.23 indicates a high probability of UC.[PMID:27986532][PMID:31028363]
